Day 14
Sports
Today we went inside and performed floor hockey skills. Students did very well trying to hit the ball in a straight line each time. They had spots to help them line up each hit to their partner.
We played a fun game of 'foosball' floor hockey. The final score was 7:4.
All students participated in fun yoga. We completed some difficult movements with our bodies while listening to a story about 'Tiny the dinosaur'.
We finished off the day with the scooter boards. Students had the opportunity to experiment with different ways to move while using the scooter boards.
Quest
The students started with a puzzle challenge. They assembled the PUZZLES that everyone made.
Then, they made their own CODE WHEEL.They cracked the code and figured out my secret message.
They also did SCAVENGER HUNT and answered 12 questions using the clues given to them.
Mad Scientists
The Mad Scientists saw the results of their previous experiment How Drinks Affect Teeth. They concluded that soda and acidic drinks have the most damage on teeth.
We also investigated the different states of matter. A yummy experiment showed how liquids can turn to solids. The children had fun making and eating Ice Cream in a Bag!
Digital Masterpieces
Today in Digital Masterpieces we continue to draw inspiration from the digital.
Just like french street artist Invader (whose work can be seen in Tokyo and all over the world) we created some of our own pixel art.
We also listened to some digitally manufactured sounds and then used wax paper to create creatures inspired by these weird noises. Then we brought them INSIDE a photograph of the DSKI school!
Pre-Kindergarten
The weather has been friendly to us today, It gave us time to play outside and enjoy. Inside, we did crafts and painted with ice. See our BEAR faces. Do we look CRANKY at all?
Kindergarten
Today we read the book "Mouse mess". Children made a collage on the paper which should look messy and made the mouse mask which we show you next week on blog.
In kindergarten we were making wind chimes and also using playdough. We investigated how long could you make a playdough roll!
