Summer Camp 13 July (Day 16)

Week 4
Last week of Summer Camp!

Sports

Students today enjoyed the opportunity to improve their passing and striking skills with the use of floor hockey sticks.

Students are becoming more and more adventurous when using scooter boards. These child races took some risks today, however, we're always aware of safety and we experience very few crashes.
Students continued to improve their coordination while completing the 'stepping stones' and 'hilltops' course. Today I made a love heart shape!

My love heart shape course was destroyed...

Students rebuilt my love heart albeit with a few arrhythmias!

Mad Scientists

Group D2
Today the Mad Scientists learned about surface tension in liquids. They successfully floated paper clips in water!

Our edible experiment was Ice Cream in a Bag. The children loved making and eating ice cream.

We tested their engineering abilities when we made the Tallest Straw Tower using plastic straws and rubber bands.

Group A2
The Mad Scientists had so much fun making and testing boats that they made by themselves. They were challenged to build a boat that floats and can carry a specific weight load. The Mad Scientists came up with very creative and functional boat designs.

The children also designed and created their own mazes. They made and tested out a Marble Maze using paper plates.

Digital Masterpieces
Today in Digital Masterpieces we had two activities on the go! (Thanks to our wonderful Summer Camp teachers for their support in facilitating this)

Group C2 used coloring sheets to create their own creatures. Then they brought them INSIDE a photograph of the DSKI school.

Group B2 worked to create Stop Motion videos of clay creatures.
Now that they have CloudStopMotion accounts, they can continue creating videos whenever they wish - try using lego or action figures at home.

Pre Kindergarten
We started a day with The Eensy Weensy Spider song. Children had a lot of fun decorating a picture frame with stickers and shells. Some of them touched glue very carefully and some of them enjoyed the texture of glue all on their hands!

We also made a fresh juice and did some taste testing for the sensory time.

Ohhh nooo!! It's sour!! Lemon Juice!

Kindergarten
We read the story "Mouse mess" again. Children drew their own mouse and added to their college. Some rooms are very tidy and not messy!
