Summer Camp 29 June (Day 6)

Summer Camp 2020
Day 6

Sports

Today the students completed scoop and ball activities. Throwing, catching and passing were key skills performed as well as striking the ball pass the goalkeeper to score goals.

We then all played a game of 'foosball scoop and ball'.

We moved inside and had fun playing 'battle pins'.

We finished the day with thrills on wheels.

Mad Scientists

The Mad Scientists cleaned coins using different materials like alcohol, dish soap, ketchup, toothpaste and oil. The children hypothesized what materials would be the best for cleaning . We verified our hypothesis and we found out ketchup and toothpaste clean coins well.

Quest
These young agents, practiced their skills in deciphering codes using a CODE WHEEL.

They sent secret messages to their friends using codes which they unlocked using their own Code Wheel. They realised it was not easy to be a secret agent!

Digital Masterpieces

Today Digital Masterpieces welcomed a new group of young learners.
We looked at patterns and color and created some word art:

We also mixed up some grey paint and painted an elephant picture before Story Time.

After snack and play we read the story of Elmar the patchwork elephant and learned that being different can be a really positive thing which brings joy to our friends.

To celebrate our differences we decorated our grey elephants with colors and patterns!

Pre-Kindergarten

We sang songs during morning circle  - Summer Song  using 'shakers' that we made with toilet roll and beans or plastic straws in it! They decorate their shakers with tapes and stickers. We also made a big mess squishing and mixing colourful jellies. They observed how red and blue jelly change colours when they are mixed. Some of them made an ice cream and that looks so yummy!

Early Years

The boys experimented with "Kanten" (Japanese jelly) and found out how smooth Kanten feels like.
They painted the paper plate with water color and used it as target in the garden. They had so much fun hitting the target with the water gun!

We started the day with the song, “What do you like to do in summer?” We also danced to the song with shakers and this made all of us sweaty!

We also made play dough using flour. We sang “Pat-a-Cake” song and pretended to be the “baker’s man”.
