Summer Camp 22 June (Day 1)

Our first day at DSKI Summer Camp!

Make sure to check out our Summer Camp Blog for updates on what our students and teachers are doing at school this summer.

Sports

Students had lots of fun today exploring different activities while being both outside and indoors.

In the morning students were introduced to scoop & ball skills. This was later followed by a game.

We then decided to move inside and with the nice and cool air conditioning, we performed some yoga. To finish a fun filled day, everyone had the chance to play on the scooter boards.

Mad Scientists

Students made a self supporting bridge based on plans made by Leonardo Da Vinci 600 years ago. This activity made us interested in engineering and design principles.

The Da Vinci bridge was meant to be portable and could be taken apart after use.

Quest

Brain Teaser: The Stroop Test
Your child brought home the Stroop test sheet. Let's see if you can do it better than them!
Test how fast you can NAME THE COLOR  - DON'T read word!

How fun it is to put puzzles together. Today, they made their own puzzles!

Digital Masterpieces

Today in Digital Masterpieces we learned about Jackson Pollock's ACTION art. We created our own action art with paint.
We also built a simple robot with a vibration motor and watched our robots draw line art.

Early Years

Today, the children made their own play dough with flour and water. Each of them created different nice shapes.

Emily made a snail and ring. Leanna made a happy face and Haruka made a pancake with face!

Pre-Kindergarten

Summer Camp let us explore, be curious, create and investigate.

We made our own clay. We observed different bugs and insects under a magnifying glass. We read a book. We created different cloud-like forms and of course, we had a picnic in our classroom! What a fun day to start the Summer Camp!
