Day 5

Week 1 of DSKI Summer Camp was a success!

Sports

Today we performed skills connected to lacrosse. The scoop and ball activities included throwing from the scoop, ball control, catching and passing.

Once students were armed with the basic skills, a game of foosball scoop and ball was played. 

  

We then moved inside and played a game of 'battle pins'.

The day concluded with a fun game of scooter board tag.

Today the students pretended to be secret agents and sent each other secret messages. 

 

 

  

Mad Scientists

We had fun with colors. The children mixed primary colors to produce secondary colors.With our amazing Walking Water experiment we transferred water to an empty container using capillary action.

 

 

 

 

 

Pre-Kindergarten

We sang songs during morning circle  - Summer Song, How's the weather? and others We made 'shakers' which we used to create music when we sang songs. We also made jellies and cut shapes like ice cream, heart, and others. What a fun way to end the week! Happy weekend! :)

 

 

Digital Masterpieces

Today Digital Masterpieces welcomed a new group of young learners.

We looked at patterns and color and created some word art:

We also mixed up some grey paint and painted an elephant picture before Story Time. After snack and play we read the story of Elmar the patchwork elephant and learned that being different can be a really positive thing which brings joy to our friends.

To celebrate our differences we decorated our grey elephants with colors and patterns!

 

 

Kindergarten

We sang German summer song in our morning circle.
We made a creative instrument together. Sounds like a wind!
And girls experimented with "Kanten" (Japanese jelly)! How is that feel? How is the smell?
Students used their water guns to make water paints, and have a good time outside.
